So long as all of your taxes are paid up with the FTB and you don’t owe any third parties any money, then you can terminate the LLC using the Secretary of State’s website to terminate it. Or if you prefer, we can also handle that for you. If it turns out you DO owe taxes or other third parties, understand that a) the Secretary of State may not allow the termination unless taxes are paid, or b) they’ll allow it, but with the understanding that you (as a member of the LLC) will become personally liable for taxes and other debts. Once terminated, you can then file a Fictitious Business Name statement in the county in which your principal place of business is conducted. So the answer is yes, you can shut down the LLC and transfer the operations to you individually and DBA in the name of your business (without the “LLC” moniker).
